Sichuan Province-based Chinese steelmaker Southwest Stainless Co. has started construction work on its new stainless steel strip project at Shawan stainless steel park in Sichuan, as reported by local media sources. The new facility will have an annual production capacity of 300,000 mt of thin stainless steel strip.

Investment in the project is expected to total RMB 500 million ($81.7 million), with commissioning scheduled for May 2015. The annual sales revenues of the project are expected to total RMB 5 billion ($817 million).
